The position is crucial for empowering physicians, nurses, and care team members with real-time data to improve patient outcomes. The company is a rapidly growing startup funded by top-tier investors and recognized for its innovation in AI and healthcare.

Requirements

  • Sound judgment and the ability to reason from vitals, labs, medications, and documentation to a defensible conclusion.
  • Clear written communication suited to clinician and clinical informatics audiences.
  • A record of getting things done without close supervision, in an environment where the process is still taking shape.
  • Evidence of fixing processes rather than working around them.
  • Ability to learn a technical product quickly and reason about it accurately, including asking the right questions of engineering and data science.
  • Fluency with AI tools in daily work, with the judgment to verify their output.
  • Comfort working in a ticket-driven, data-heavy environment, staying organized and accurate across many concurrent cases.
  • Genuine interest in learning medical device quality and regulatory practice, including complaint handling.
  • 5 years of experience, either: An active RN license and 3+ years of acute care experience (ICU, emergency, or rapid response) with strong familiarity with sepsis and clinical deterioration OR Commensurate healthcare experience with ability to understand clinical aspects of sepsis and clinical deterioration.
  • Experience with EHRs such as Epic or Cerner, or work in clinical informatics, clinical research, or clinical decision support.
  • Exposure to SEP-1 or sepsis bundle abstraction and quality reporting.
  • Familiarity with medical device quality standards such as QMSR or ISO 13485, or clear eagerness to build that knowledge.
  • Comfort reading structured clinical data exports and spreadsheets.
  • Authorization to work in the United States.

Responsibilities

  • Perform clinical case reviews on sepsis alerts, including investigating encounter records, establishing clinical timelines, determining alert behavior, and producing internal case reviews with evidence and recommendations.
  • Develop and apply knowledge of the product's flag generation, suppression logic, and data flow from EHR to the model.
  • Review AI-assisted triage and classification, investigate and classify complaints, create tickets, and correct outputs where clinical facts do not support them.
  • Communicate findings clearly and accurately to clinicians and clinical informatics teams, adhering to communication standards that protect patient privacy.
  • Own escalations by routing issues to the appropriate teams (data science, engineering, implementation, clinical), providing necessary clinical context, and driving tickets to closure.
  • Manage a concurrent caseload, tracking status, prioritizing by clinical and client risk, and maintaining an up-to-date queue.
  • Identify recurring patterns in cases (e.g., mapping failures, interface latency, suppression gaps), quantify their frequency, and report them to owning teams.
  • Create and improve case review templates, evidence standards, response language, triage rules, and escalation paths, documenting all changes.
  • Support product complaint handling by documenting complaints, assembling clinical evidence, and contributing to the disposition of anomalies for the release process of a regulated device.
