About The Position

Pontiac Correctional Center is looking to hire a Clinical Psychologist. The ideal candidate will select and administer therapeutic and research techniques for recipients exhibiting a broad range of disorders. They will develop and implement mental health treatment programs, serve as lead worker, and be a liaison between psychiatric and psychological services. In addition, they will serve as consultant for release planning, and staff trainer. We encourage all qualified applicants to apply.

Requirements

  • Requires a Doctoral degree in Psychology from an accredited graduate program in psychology, supplemented by two (2) years of supervised experience in health services of which at least one (1) year is post-doctoral and one (1) year is an organized health service program.
  • Requires licensure as a Clinical Psychologist by the Illinois Department of Financial and Professional Regulations.
  • Requires ability to pass the IDOC/IDJJ background check.
  • Requires ability to pass a drug screen. The use of unauthorized drugs by an employee, regardless of position held, is prohibited.

Nice To Haves

  • Prefers at least three (3) years of experience with working with multidisciplinary treatment teams.
  • Prefers at least three (3) years of experience in providing clinical supervision in an adult correctional center.
  • Prefers at least three (3) years of experience in providing clinical supervision to non-clinically licensed professionals.
  • Prefers at least three (3) years of experience with conducting and participating in quality assurance processes.
  • Prefers at least five (5) years of supervised practice as a clinical psychologist.
  • Prefers knowledge of relevant clinical accreditation standards focused on Mental Health.

Responsibilities

  • Selects and administers therapeutic and research techniques for recipients exhibiting a broad range of disorders.
  • Develops and implements mental health treatment programs for offenders experiencing more complex mental health and psychiatric illnesses.
  • As a Clinical Psychologist in the Department of Corrections, signs the certificate of need of commitment when admitting from the Department of Corrections to the Department of Human Services as required by law, testifies in court regarding same.
  • Serves as a lead worker.
  • Serves as liaison of psychiatric and psychological services including liaison between medical services and psychiatric services and between clinical services and psychiatric services.
  • Serves as consultant for release planning.
  • Serves as staff trainer.
  • Performs other duties as required or assigned which are reasonably within the scope if the duties enumerated above.
