About The Position

This role involves providing clinical psychology services within a Military Treatment Facility (MTF). The psychologist will adhere to state licensing board regulations, American Psychological Association guidelines, and MTF-specific protocols. Responsibilities include conducting psychological evaluations, diagnosing mental health conditions using the DSM, providing individual and group therapy, supporting patients with medical and surgical issues, and performing assessments to understand patient functioning.

Requirements

• Ph.D. or Psy.D. in Clinical or Counseling Psychology from a program recognized by the American Psychological Association.
• Completed an internship in psychology that is accredited by the American Psychological Association.
• At least 1 year of experience working as a licensed clinical psychologist.
• An active license to practice as a Clinical Psychologist in any state.
• Current BLS Healthcare Provider certification from the American Heart Association or American Red Cross.
• Ability to pass a background check for government work.

Responsibilities

• Follow the rules set by your state licensing group, the American Psychological Association, and the guidelines of the Military Treatment Facility (MTF).
• Perform psychological evaluations using information from interviews, psychological tests, and other sources when needed.
• Identify mental health issues using the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders from the American Psychiatric Association.
• Provide therapy for individuals and groups; support patients dealing with medical and surgical problems.
• Conduct assessments and evaluations to understand the patient’s issues and how they are functioning.
