About The Position

Provides oversight, consultation, research, management, and education in a specific clinical area. This role serves as an expert consultant for team members in areas of program development, clinical practice, and professional growth. The specialist develops, plans, implements, and evaluates educational programs, and manages clinical research projects to support evidence-based practice. They maintain awareness of current trends and practice changes, coordinate activities to meet organizational and regulatory requirements, and act as a liaison between patients, staff, physicians, and the community. The position also involves providing care in accordance with established policies and may offer support and guidance to patients and families.

Requirements

  • Requires critical thinking skills and decisive judgment.
  • Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action.
  • Applies more advanced skills and knowledge in the area of specialization.
  • A minimum of 3 years' relevant experience required
  • Associate's degree or higher in related field required upon hire
  • Current licensure or certification in clinical specialty required upon hire
  • BLS - Certified as a Basic Life Support Healthcare Provider required within 45 days of employment in this position

Responsibilities

  • Serves as an expert consultant for team members in areas of program development, clinical practice, and professional growth.
  • Develops, plans, implements, and evaluates educational programs and utilizes methods, measurements, and tools to evaluate achievement of learning goals.
  • Manages clinical research projects in support of evidence-based practice and disseminates findings while ensuring follow-up is completed.
  • Maintains awareness of current trends, practice changes, and research findings related to program.
  • Coordinates activities and projects to meet organizational and regulatory requirements; monitors local, state, and federal regulations.
  • Rounds on and serves as a liaison between patient, clinical staff, physicians, and the community to maximize resources and resolve barriers to the plan of care.
  • Provides care in accordance with established policies, procedures, and protocols of the healthcare organization.
  • May provide support, counseling, and expert guidance to patients and families to promote their ability to understand and meaningfully participate in the healthcare process and personal decision-making.
