About The Position

Lyra Health is seeking a licensed therapist passionate about leveraging state-of-the-art technology, including artificial intelligence, to significantly expand access to evidence-based mental health interventions. This role will apply clinical knowledge and expertise to ensure the clinical safety and quality of Lyra’s AI tools at scale. You will be part of a highly skilled and collaborative team with an established track record of cross-functional collaboration for the development of clinical technology. Your work on monitoring and developing clinical AI tools will help create meaningful positive change on a large scale.

Requirements

  • Master’s degree from a clinical track (e.g., MSW, MFT, MC, MMHC) or PsyD or PhD in clinical / counseling psychology
  • Unrestricted LCSW, LMFT, LPC, PsyD, PhD, or equivalent license (i.e., able to work independently, without supervision from a licensed supervisor) without current, past, or pending disciplinary action
  • 4+ years of primarily full-time direct clinical experience post-licensure
  • Strong training in and experience in safety risk assessment and management (e.g., SI, self-harm, etc.)
  • Experience conducting clinical quality assurance (QA) or clinical auditing to ensure high standards of care
  • Passionate about disseminating evidence-based mental health care by leveraging technology on a large scale
  • Excellent training in and deep understanding of evidence-based treatments (e.g., CBT, DBT, IPT, EFT, ACT)
  • Independent, flexible, can navigate uncertainty well, thrives in a fast-paced, high-change, dynamic environment

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with the clinical application of generative AI and LLMs within a mental health context is a plus
  • Strong training in and experience providing culturally responsive care is preferred

Responsibilities

  • Conducting clinical safety and quality monitoring of Lyra AI tools to ensure adherence to clinical standards and protocols
  • Executing clinical escalation protocols to support client safety and treatment effectiveness for clients using Lyra AI tools
  • Participating in rigorous clinical testing to ensure Lyra AI tools consistently meet safety and quality requirements
  • Selecting and developing comprehensive sets of clinical scenarios that are representative of client situations (safety, distress) to support AI tools development
  • Writing sets of gold standard responses to specific clinical situations to maximize clinical effectiveness and helpfulness of AI tools
  • Evaluating AI responses in a systematic and reliable way to ascertain level of clinical quality
  • Synthesizing areas of improvement for AI tools to meet clinical safety and effectiveness criteria
  • Cross functional collaboration with other teams to support the development of AI tools
