The Clinical Practice Supervisor role involves operational and clinical oversight, managing the daily activities of clinical staff within the department.

Requirements

  • High school graduate or equivalent.
  • Successful completion of Medical Assistant training from an approved technical school or above.
  • Two (2) years of related experience required.
  • Maintain current BLS Healthcare Provider Certification.
  • Maintain current certification by one of the following agencies: Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) by AAMA, Registered Medical Assistant (RMA) by AMT, Certified Clinical Medical Assistant (CCMA) by NHA, or National Certified Medical Assistant (NCMA) by NCCT.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee daily operations of clinical staff, including personnel supervision, compliance with policies and procedures, facility management, patient scheduling, and business reporting.
  • Participate in hiring, supervision, work assignments, coaching, and disciplinary actions for assigned team members.
  • Act as a resource for the service line Assistant Vice President, Director of Operations, and/or Operations Manager.
  • Collaborate with the service line Clinical Operations Manager or Director of Nursing to ensure clinical quality and standardization.
  • Manage operations to provide efficient and cost-effective clinical operations for physician clients.
  • Schedule staffing to meet changing workload needs.
  • Identify training needs for team members and facilitate development opportunities, including evaluation of training, implementation, orientation, and participation in education programs.
  • Develop, implement, monitor, and evaluate quality assurance activities, ensuring compliance with standards, laws, regulations, and procedures. Recommend new or revised policies and procedures.
  • Analyze medical records and documentation to identify problem areas.
  • Collaborate effectively with physicians and administrative staff.
  • Assist physicians with strategies for practice efficiency and growth.
  • Provide management reports to physicians and administration for review, practice planning, practice marketing, and practice development.
  • Provide department-level orientation to new team members, covering system software, telephone processes, office equipment, departmental policies, customer service expectations, job competencies, and coaching plans.
  • Maintain reasonably regular, punctual attendance consistent with Orlando Health policies, the ADA, FMLA, and other standards.
  • Maintain compliance with all Orlando Health policies and procedures.
  • Educate and supervise clinical and non-clinical staff.
  • Provide necessary documentation relating to policies and procedures.
  • Maintain confidentiality of data and information.
  • Function as a member of the medical office management team.
  • Apply knowledge of medical practice protocols and standards.
  • Document patient care, reviewing for accuracy and completeness.
  • Perform other clinical tasks/duties as needed.
