About The Position

James Madison University (JMU) School of Nursing invites applications for a 12-month, full-time Administrative & Professional faculty appointment at the rank of Instructor beginning January 10, 2027. The School of Nursing offers CCNE-accredited Baccalaureate, Master’s, and Doctor of Nursing Practice programs. The Clinical Placement Coordinator is responsible for coordinating student clinical placements, managing clinical affiliation agreements and contracts, monitoring compliance requirements, overseeing student clinical eligibility and onboarding requirements, and maintaining partnerships with clinical agencies to support nursing program operations.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree.
• Recent relevant administrative work experience.

Nice To Haves

• Master’s in Nursing or a related discipline preferred.
• Experience with clinical coordination and special project coordination.
• Experience in higher education administration and operations.
• Strong organizational and communication skills, proficiency with data management systems, and experience in clinical coordination.

Responsibilities

• Coordinates student clinical placements and serves as the primary liaison with clinical agency partners to secure placement opportunities, facilitate onboarding processes, and support clinical operations
• Monitors student clinical eligibility and onboarding requirements to ensure compliance with School of Nursing, university, regulatory, and clinical agency requirements, including immunizations, certifications, licensure, background checks, drug screenings, and agency-specific onboarding processes.
• Maintains required records and communicates with students, faculty, clinical partners, and vendors regarding compliance status and deadlines.
• Coordinates placement assignments and clinical schedules, and collaborates with agencies to facilitate student onboarding and site orientation activities.
• Manages clinical affiliation agreements and contracts, including tracking renewal timelines and coordinating with university and agency representatives to ensure timely execution and uninterrupted access to clinical placement opportunities.
• Collaborates with School of Nursing leadership, faculty, staff, and external partners to support effective clinical operations and student placement processes.
