About The Position

Under the supervision of a licensed Pharmacist, the Clinical Pharmacy Technician I assists with smooth and accurate pharmacy operations in accordance with Option Care Health policies and procedures and the state's professional standards and regulations. The role supports prescription processing, medication and supply preparation, patient support, inventory management, routine delivery scheduling, and cleaning and organization of the work area. The position requires a high school diploma or GED and 0 to 6 months of relevant experience. State-required licensure or registration and completion of the designated training course must be obtained within six months of hire, if applicable. Previous healthcare or pharmacy technician experience is preferred. The role involves standing for extended periods, frequent bending, stooping, and reaching, and carrying at least 30 pounds. Travel is not required.

Requirements

High school diploma or GED.
0 to 6 months of relevant experience.
Obtain state-required licensure or registration within six months of hire, if required by the state.
Successfully enroll in and complete the company-designated training course within six months of hire, if required by the state.
Customer service experience with internal and external customers, including meeting service quality standards and evaluating customer satisfaction.
Ability to perform basic and intermediate mathematical calculations.
Excellent organizational skills.
Basic Microsoft Word skills.
Basic Microsoft Excel skills.
Basic Microsoft PowerPoint skills.
Ability to stand for extended periods.
Frequent bending, stooping, and reaching.
Ability to carry at least 30 pounds.

Responsibilities

Review and validate basic prescription drug refill requests and process them according to company policies and procedures.
Assist with preparing and dispensing medications and supplies.
Help maintain equipment through calibration, inspection, cleaning, and testing, and inform a supervisor of defects.
Collect and maintain basic patient information needed to plan materials, supplies, equipment, and prescriptions.
Support a positive patient experience by answering basic patient questions and responding to basic requests.
Receive and verify quantities of incoming supplies and materials.
Stock and store new supplies and materials; review expiration dates and identify shortages.
Pick and pack materials and supplies, create tickets, and track inventory through accurate data entry in applicable systems.
Schedule routine patient deliveries.
Clean and sanitize surfaces and laminar hood flows, and clean and organize supplies.
Perform other duties as assigned.
