About The Position

Under the supervision of a licensed Pharmacist, the Clinical Pharmacy Technician I assists with ensuring smooth and accurate pharmacy operations in accordance with Option Care Health policies and procedures and applicable state professional standards and regulations. The role supports prescription processing, medication and supply preparation, patient service, inventory management, equipment maintenance, and site cleanliness. The position has no supervisory responsibilities. Other duties may be assigned.

Requirements

High school diploma or GED.
0 to 6 months of relevant experience.
Obtain a license or registration within 6 months of hire if required by the state.
Successfully enroll in and complete the designated company training course within 6 months of hire if licensure and/or the course is required by the state.
Experience providing customer service to internal and external customers, meeting service quality standards, and evaluating customer satisfaction.
Ability to perform basic and intermediate mathematical calculations.
Excellent organizational skills.
Basic Microsoft Word skills.
Basic Microsoft Excel skills.
Basic Microsoft PowerPoint skills.
Ability to stand for extended periods.
Frequent bending, stooping, and reaching.
Ability to carry at least 30 pounds.

Nice To Haves

Previous healthcare or pharmacy technician experience.

Responsibilities

Review and validate basic prescription drug refill requests and process them according to company policies and procedures.
Assist with preparing and dispensing medications and supplies.
Maintain equipment through calibration, inspection, cleaning, and testing, and inform a supervisor of defects.
Collect and maintain basic patient information needed to plan materials, supplies, equipment, and prescriptions accurately.
Answer basic patient questions and respond to basic patient requests to help ensure a positive patient experience.
Receive and verify quantities of incoming supplies and materials; stock and store them; review expiration dates; identify shortages; and pick and pack materials and supplies.
Create tickets and track inventory through accurate data entry into applicable systems.
Schedule routine patient deliveries.
Clean and sanitize surfaces and laminar hood flows, and clean and organize supplies.
Perform other duties as assigned.
