About The Position

Texas Health Dallas is seeking a Clinical Pharmacist to join their Pharmacy Department. This role is PRN, requiring availability on weekends and evenings. The pharmacy team is diverse and inclusive, focusing on teamwork and exceptional patient care. Pharmacists are integral to the healthcare team, actively participating in emergent bedside care for critical situations like strokes, Level I traumas, and code blues. The department utilizes advanced technologies such as EPIC, Pyxis, carousel, and KitCheck to enhance patient care. Pharmacists serve a wide range of patient populations across various units including the Emergency Department (ED), Intensive Care Units (ICUs), Operating Rooms (ORs), Women and Neonatal, Oncology, and Medical/Surgical units. The role involves participation in clinical initiatives like anticoagulation management, renal monitor/adjustments, and Antimicrobial Stewardship.

Requirements

Bachelor’s Degree in Pharmacy or Pharm.D. is required
Must comply with CLIA regulations regarding foreign education equivalency is required
Texas Pharmacist License upon hire is required
Must be proficient in written and verbal English language communication skills, computer proficient and possess basic math skills.

Nice To Haves

Completion of a PGY1 Pharmacy Residency, or a minimum of five (5) years of progressive clinical hospital pharmacy experience is strongly preferred.
Experience within a pharmacy specialty or high-acuity care environment is preferred.

Responsibilities

Timely and accurate support of medication distribution including medication order verification and oversight of pharmacy technician responsibilities.
Provision of clinical pharmacy services for the safe and efficient patient care.
Ensuring the accuracy of one's own work as well as maintaining required competencies and other documentation.
Consistent support of the department's quality improvement and patient safety standards programs and initiatives is also required.
Ongoing professional development and growth.
Not only the management of one's own time but shares the responsibility for minimizing pharmaceutical costs (including wastage) and discovering new process efficiencies.
