About The Position

Sentara Health is seeking a Clinical Pharmacist to join their Pharmacy team. The ideal candidate will possess comprehensive knowledge of current pharmacotherapeutic principles, medical terminology, disease state and population management, and age-appropriate therapy. This role is crucial for ensuring safe, effective, and evidence-based medication use, aligning with the organization's commitment to delivering exceptional care. The Clinical Pharmacist will collaborate with healthcare providers and multidisciplinary teams to support medication management, provide patient education, and contribute to clinical decision-making to enhance patient outcomes. Experience with online pharmacy adjudication systems is a requirement. Applications are welcomed from newly graduated pharmacists and pharmacists not currently licensed in Virginia due to relocation. Candidates not currently licensed in Virginia must obtain Virginia licensure within 90 days of their Sentara start date. Advanced certification in HIV, oncology, infectious disease, or ambulatory care is preferred.

Requirements

  • Comprehensive knowledge of current pharmacotherapeutic principles, medical terminology, disease state and population management, and age-appropriate therapy.
  • Experience with online pharmacy adjudication systems.
  • Pharmacist License (RPh) – State License – Other/National.
  • Licensed Pharmacist – Virginia Board of Pharmacy (Required within 90 days of hire if not currently licensed in VA).
  • Demonstrated understanding of pharmacotherapeutic principles and medical terminology.
  • Experience managing medication therapy for diverse patient populations.
  • Strong collaboration and communication skills within interdisciplinary healthcare teams.
  • Commitment to continuous learning and staying current with clinical pharmacy practice.
