About The Position

Specialty Medical Staffing is seeking a Clinical Pharmacist for a 13-week contract opportunity with a specialty inpatient hospital in the Pittsburgh, PA area. This position offers a consistent weekday schedule and the opportunity to work closely with an interdisciplinary healthcare team supporting medically complex patients. We are seeking a pharmacist with strong inpatient clinical experience, excellent communication skills, and the ability to provide direct patient care through medication management, discharge counseling, and clinical pharmacy services.

Requirements

Active Pennsylvania Pharmacist License in good standing
Recent inpatient hospital pharmacy experience required
EPIC experience preferred
Strong clinical knowledge of antimicrobial stewardship and pharmacokinetic dosing
Experience with medication reconciliation and patient discharge counseling preferred

Responsibilities

Perform medication order verification and support daily inpatient pharmacy operations
Complete medication reconciliation and discharge medication reviews
Provide discharge counseling to patients and caregivers regarding medication therapy
Monitor antimicrobial therapy and provide recommendations based on culture and sensitivity results
Manage and monitor anticoagulation and pharmacokinetic dosing regimens
Review patient medication profiles for drug interactions, allergies, contraindications, and therapeutic appropriateness
Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to optimize patient outcomes
Support formulary management, medication safety initiatives, and quality improvement programs
Maintain compliance with state and federal pharmacy regulations and hospital policies
Participate in clinical pharmacy services, medication use evaluations, and interdisciplinary patient care activities
