About The Position

The Clinical Pharmacist, Pediatrics shall provide leadership for all clinical pharmacy activities within assigned area. This individual shall provide support for staff development so that staff meets minimum competency standards. The Pharmacist shall maintain knowledge of current pharmaceutical practices and policies. Additionally, the Pharmacist will support management by providing oversight, guidance, and support for all assigned areas. This individual shall participate in the planning, organization, implementation, and follow up of new programs and activities. The Pharmacist will promote safe, appropriate, and cost-effective medication therapy throughout the department. This position may have additional duties assigned that are within scope of the role.

Requirements

  • Graduate of an accredited school of pharmacy required
  • Completion of an ASHP-accredited residency program or a minimum of 2 years' experience.
  • Active RPH required
  • Active Alabama Controlled Substance certification required
  • BLS required
  • Excellent knowledge of MS Office and familiarity with relevant computer software.
  • Strong team leadership skills
  • Strong organization, interpersonal, and customer relations skills.
  • Must be able to meet strict deadlines.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving ability, and excellent organizational skills.
  • Must be able to complete multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Ability to remain calm in difficult situations.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills
  • Proficient computer skills
  • Proven track record of successful performance.
  • Ability to understand complex multifactor situations and bring appropriate solutions.
  • Ability to work both independently and in a team environment.
  • Proficient in pharmaceutical calculations.
  • Knowledgeable in aseptic technique.

Nice To Haves

  • PharmD degree preferred
  • BPS certification preferred
  • Additional certifications (ACLS, PALS, NRP, etc) may be required depending upon area assigned
