As a Clinical Pharmacist, a caregiver in this role will provide primarily decentralized clinical pharmacy services to general inpatient populations. Working as part of a team of approximately 36 caregivers, this role combines clinical responsibilities on nursing units with operational dispensing from the main pharmacy. The caregiver will provide patient education, participate in residency program support and have opportunities to contribute to research initiatives. Responsibilities also include occasional centralized pharmacy coverage. The caregiver will also respond to codes and stroke alerts, collaborating with the care team to support safe, effective and timely medication management.

Requirements

  • PharmD or Bachelor of Science degree in Pharmacy from an accredited college of pharmacy
  • Current state licensure as a Registered Pharmacist (RPh) or eligible for reciprocation in current state within 90 days of hire
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross
  • Completion of a Board of Pharmacy approved course in the administration of immunizations or certification obtained within 90 days (for individuals required to administer immunizations)
  • Current Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) and/or Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification through American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross (required within one year of hire for caregivers required to respond to adult or pediatric cardiopulmonary arrest)

  • Completion of a post-graduate year 1 residency (PGY1), fellowship or relevant post-graduate pharmacy experience
  • Post-graduate year 2 residency (PGY2) or relevant experience for Clinical Pharmacists hired in a Specialized Pharmacy practice area (inpatient experience)
