Clinical Pharmacist II
About The Position
The Clinical Pharmacist II 7/7 is responsible for the provision of direct patient care, including optimizing pharmacotherapy, ensuring medication safety, and promoting effective transitions of care. This role offers opportunities to participate in committees, project work, provide education to healthcare providers, and precept pharmacy students and residents. This is a permanent night position in the Emergency Department, involving a 7-day on, 7-day off schedule (Wednesday to Tuesday, 9 pm - 7:30 am). Responsibilities include medical and surgical trauma response, providing pharmacotherapy to adult and pediatric ED patients, preparing select IV products, and participating in quality improvement projects. The position also involves student precepting and potential involvement in training PGY1 and PGY2 residents.
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree in Pharmacy from an accredited college of pharmacy
- Licensure to practice pharmacy in the state of Massachusetts by the start date
- PGY1 residency with at least 1 year relevant experience
- At least two years of hospital experience, and/or completion of an ASHP accredited residency in hospital pharmacy practice
- Substantial interpersonal skills towards customers (patients, physicians, nurses) and fellow employees
Nice To Haves
- PGY2 in Emergency Medicine or Critical Care, or equivalent preferred
