This is a non-benefited casual/per diem position with varied 10-hour shifts located at Scripps Mercy Hospital San Diego. Schedule will be every other weekend, plus one day during the week. The Clinical Pharmacist I will work at Scripps Mercy Hospital San Diego, serving central and downtown San Diego. Requirements

  • BS Pharmacy or Pharm.D. Degree
  • California Pharmacist License
  • AHA BLS
  • ACLS certification required prior to being trained to respond to codes, can be obtained within 6 months of hire
  • Candidates with less than 1 year of experience

Nice To Haves

  • PGY1 residency or 3 years' experience in relevant practice area.

Responsibilities

  • Primarily operation focused centrally based; participates in direct patient care as clinical competencies are approved and on approved shifts.
  • Documents the care provided to patients.
  • Supervises the drug distribution operation: responsible for assuring safe and effective alternatives as appropriate.
  • Contributes to the accomplishment of initiatives to improve the cost-effectiveness of drug therapy.
  • Routinely communicates with physicians, nurses, and patients regarding drug therapy.
  • Demonstrates ability to provide age-specific patient care as established for area and job title.
  • Demonstrates ability to perform competencies and perform activities as outlined in the Pharmacist Authorities policy.
  • Provides pharmaceutical care according to standards established by Scripps Health Pharmacy, to assigned group of patients.
  • Reviews and evaluates individual drug orders for appropriateness, safety, and cost.
