About The Position

This Emergency Department clinical pharmacist position in the Clinical and Patient Care Services Division provides clinical pharmacy services, including order verification, clinical monitoring, and support of clinical pharmacy and departmental programs. The role involves maintaining outstanding skills as a clinical pharmacist, providing clinical pharmacy services to the Emergency Department and associated patient populations, and educating medical, nursing, and pharmacy staff about the management, prescribing, and monitoring of therapies. The pharmacist will serve as a resource to the Department of Pharmacy for areas of expertise, participate in departmental and hospital committees and initiatives, contribute to student and resident education, provide educational lectures, and participate in research. They will work with peers to achieve division and departmental goals, take responsibility for personal and professional growth, and maintain familiarity with all departmental programs, working as an integral part of the pharmacy team. Additional responsibilities may be assigned by the manager.

Requirements

  • Pharm.D.
  • Licensed or eligible to practice pharmacy in North Carolina

Nice To Haves

  • 2+ years of practice experience desired
  • PGY1 or pharmacy practice residency preferred
  • PGY2 Emergency Medicine Specialty Residency or equivalent experience preferred

  • Serves as a resource to the Department of Pharmacy for area(s) of expertise.
  • Participates in departmental and hospital committees and initiatives related to practice area.
  • Contributes to student and resident education
  • Provides educational lectures and/or participates in research (Duke, State/Local, National)
  • Works with peers to achieve division and departmental goals
  • Takes responsibility for personal and professional growth
  • Maintains familiarity with all departmental programs and works as integral part of the pharmacy team
