About The Position

Under general supervision of the medical staff and in accordance with policies, procedures, and professional guidelines, the Clinical Perfusionist assists with procedures requiring cardiopulmonary bypass, ECMO, cell saver, and other related bypass procedures. The role provides, assembles, and cares for perfusion supplies, instruments, and equipment before, during, and after procedures; cleans and maintains perfusion equipment; and assists the perfusion team leader with ordering and stocking supplies and equipment in the surgical suites. The Clinical Perfusionist administers medication under physician direction and performs duties in accordance with Tampa General Hospital’s mission, vision, and values.

Requirements

• Graduate of an accredited perfusion training program.
• Current national certification from the American Board of Cardiovascular Perfusionists.

Responsibilities

• Assist with procedures requiring cardiopulmonary bypass, ECMO, cell saver, and other related bypass procedures.
• Provide, assemble, and care for perfusion supplies, instruments, and equipment before, during, and after procedures.
• Clean and maintain perfusion equipment.
• Assist the perfusion team leader with ordering and stocking perfusion supplies and equipment in the surgical suites.
• Administer medication under the direction of a physician.
