Clinical Performance Improvement Lead- Process Improvement
About The Position
The Clinical Performance Improvement Lead (CPIL) uses clinical experience to optimize healthcare processes, enhance patient care and safety, and improve operational efficiency. Using Lean and Six Sigma methodologies, the CPIL leads cross-functional teams to identify improvement opportunities, design solutions, and implement changes. The role uses clinical data and performance metrics to guide improvement work and validate outcomes, combining clinical expertise and process improvement skills to drive sustainable change and foster a culture of continuous improvement. This is a hybrid position, averaging three days per week working from home. Candidates must reside in Nebraska or Iowa. Applicants must submit a resume for consideration. If not already certified, the CPIL must complete Lean or Six Sigma certification within six months of starting or transferring into the role.
Requirements
- At least five years of nursing, allied health, or related healthcare experience.
- Bachelor's degree in nursing or another healthcare-related field.
- Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills, including the ability to collaborate with people across roles, leadership levels, backgrounds, and educational levels.
- Demonstrated experience implementing process improvements and facilitating teams and activities.
- Demonstrated use of evidence-based practice.
- Strong project management and presentation skills.
- Strong attention to detail and proven ability to multitask.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including PowerPoint, Excel, and Word.
- Strong data management and data set organization skills.
- Current Nebraska Registered Nurse license, current compact state license, or appropriate allied health license in Nebraska, as required for the degree. Applicants licensed outside Nebraska or without a current compact state license must be able to obtain licensure within six months of hire or transfer.
- Must complete Lean or Six Sigma certification within six months of starting or transferring into the role if not already obtained.
- Must reside in Nebraska or Iowa.

Nice To Haves
- Demonstrated knowledge and application of Lean and Six Sigma principles.
- Professional process improvement or project management certification, such as Lean Practitioner, Certified Six Sigma Green Belt, Certified Six Sigma Black Belt, PMP, or similar.
- Master's degree in business administration, healthcare or nursing administration, or a healthcare-related field.
- Proficiency or familiarity with statistics.
- Exposure to Lean and Six Sigma tools such as process mapping and FMEA, and to data analytics tools such as Tableau.
Responsibilities
- Lead cross-functional teams to identify areas for improvement, design solutions, and implement changes.
- Analyze clinical data and performance metrics to guide improvements and validate outcomes.
- Analyze processes, identify gaps, and implement best practices and standards.
- Facilitate teams and improvement activities and lead a team or project with limited manager support after completing department orientation and training.
