About The Position
The PathConnexx Externship is a unique learning experience for veterinary pathology residents currently enrolled in a clinical pathology residency program and beginning their final year in the fall of 2026. Residents will gain real-world experience working virtually alongside IDEXX pathologists, who provide diagnostics and consultation services to practicing veterinarians. During your externship, you will be integrated into our global professional pathology team with exposure to a wide range of interesting pathology cases, specifically selected for you based on your interests and goals for your program.
Requirements
- DVM or equivalent
- 18+ years of age
- Two completed years of a clinical pathology residency with a track record of academic success and potential
- Familiarity with current topics and issues in diagnostic veterinary medicine
Nice To Haves
- Successful completion of Phase I of the ACVP board exam
Responsibilities
- Participate in the digital diagnostic evaluation of specimens.
- Engage in related consultations.
- Participate in other externship activities.
- Interact virtually with IDEXX pathologists.
- Attend and participate in pathology-related meetings, as available (i.e. rounds).
