About The Position

Penrose - St. Francis Health Services is seeking a Clinical Pastoral Educator Candidate to participate in the ACPE Certified Educator educational program. This training position aims to prepare the candidate to become an ACPE Certified Educator. The role involves developing and conducting Clinical Pastoral Education (CPE) programs and curriculum under the supervision of an ACPE certified educator, ensuring compliance with ACPE standards. The candidate will educate CPE students, collaborate with educators and faculty on program administration, and provide spiritual and emotional care to patients, their loved ones, and staff. This includes assessing spiritual needs and developing care plans. Success in this role requires a strong commitment to becoming an ACPE Certified Educator, excellent organizational skills, a proactive approach, and the ability to effectively develop and conduct CPE programs while delivering compassionate clinical spiritual care.

Requirements

  • Master's Degree in Divinity, Theology, or related field from an accredited school
  • Minimum of four (4) units CPE from ACPE-accredited program

Responsibilities

  • Participates fully in the ACPE Certified Educator educational program, meeting relevant deadlines for submission of educational materials and maintaining knowledge of and participation with the ACPE Certified Educator certification process.
  • Develops and conducts Clinical Pastoral Education (CPE) programs and curriculum under the supervision of an Association of Clinical Pastoral Education (ACPE) certified educator in compliance with the standards of ACPE.
  • Educates CPE students and ensures the students' delivery of spiritual care services.
  • Works with the CPE certified educators and clinical faculty in the planning and administration of the overall CPE training program.
  • Provides spiritual and emotional care in assigned areas, including care of patients, their loved ones, and staff.
  • Assesses spiritual needs and develops a plan for sustained care.
