About The Position

The Clinical Outcomes Specialist at MD Anderson Cancer Center identifies quality improvement opportunities, analyzes patient outcomes, and supports the delivery of high quality, patient centered care. This role partners with the interprofessional team to coordinate care across the continuum, improve processes, and enhance clinical outcomes for complex patient populations. The G22 IMU is a specialized intermediate care unit providing advanced monitoring and treatment for oncology patients who require a higher level of care than a general medical unit but do not need intensive care. Nurses on this unit manage complex therapies, monitor for complications, and provide education and emotional support to patients and families.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing
  • Master’s Degree in a healthcare field
  • Five years of clinical nursing experience
  • Three years of oncology nursing experience
  • Current State of Texas Professional Nursing License (RN)
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) or Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR)
  • Certification in quality or specialty focused area required upon hire

Nice To Haves

  • Master’s Degree in Quality
  • Three years of oncology nursing experience with a preferred advanced degree

Responsibilities

  • Identify quality and process improvement opportunities
  • Lead and collaborate with the interprofessional team in planning, delivery, and evaluation of patient focused care
  • Coordinate and integrate care across the continuum for assigned patient populations
  • Analyze patient data and outcomes to drive improvements in care delivery
  • Other duties as assigned
