About The Position

Are you an RN interested in growing your career at an amazing BJC Health Community Based Hospital? Apply today as an Oncology Nurse Coordinator at Alton Memorial Hospital! This position is located onsite at Alton Memorial but the program is through WashU at Memorial Hospital Belleville. This is a full-time benefits-eligible position with (5) 8-hour shifts from 8:00 am to 4:30 pm. There is no call, weekends, nights, or holidays required. This is a very busy oncology practice.

• Nursing Diploma/Associate's - Nursing
• No Experience
• No Experience (Supervisor Experience)

Nice To Haves

• 3+ Years of Bedside Experience Preferred
• Prior Oncology Experience Strongly Preferred
• Detail Oriented and Strong Autonomy Abilities Preferred
• Accept BSN/MSN Candidates
• Bachelor's Degree - Nursing
• <2 years (Experience)

Responsibilities

• Promotes patient and family centered care in a healing environment.
• Educates patients and their families on how to manage their illness or injury, including post treatment home care needs and medication administration.
• Participates in activities that promote patient safety, quality and regulatory compliance.
• Participates in professional development.
• Develops, implements, and documents individual plans of care with defined goals in collaboration with other members of the interprofessional team and patient, family or caregiver in accordance with the established guidelines and standards of nursing care.
• Proactively plans and ensures communication of the plan of care across the continuum of care.
• Uses critical nursing skills to assess and evaluate physical, psychosocial, and emotional needs according to standards of care.
• Assess patient preferences and barriers to involvement in care, including their values, emotional, spiritual, cultural, and population-specific needs.
• The ability to work in a constant state of alertness and in a safe manner is an essential function of this job.
