About The Position

St. Elizabeth Healthcare is hiring a Clinical Office Assistant for our Medical Oncology Clinic. This position provides customer-focused service and support to patient flow in a unit based setting. The role may be responsible for a variety of duties based on department operations, including patient registration, scheduling, billing, assisting with pre-certification, medical records management, data entry, and answering phones. The Clinical Office Assistant is responsible for routine problem resolution, assisting with patient flow coordination, and initiating follow-up with appropriate staff as needed. This role ensures compliance with federal, state, and local laws and regulations pertaining to patient privacy and confidentiality, such as HIPAA laws. The position requires demonstrating respect, dignity, kindness, and empathy in every interaction with patients, families, visitors, and colleagues, regardless of cultural background.

Requirements

  • High school graduate or GED
  • Medical terminology
  • Computer fluency/literacy
  • Communication skills (verbal and written)
  • Maintain patient confidentiality
  • Organization and prioritization skills
  • 1 year of experience in an office front desk type role, healthcare registration, scheduling or other patient-facing healthcare positions.

  • Ensures compliance with federal, state, and local laws and regulations pertaining to patient privacy and confidentiality, i.e., HIPAA laws.
  • Demonstrates respect, dignity, kindness and empathy in each encounter with all patients, families, visitors and other employees regardless of cultural background.
