About The Position

The Clinical Nursing Supervisor (CNS) - Clinic is responsible for supporting the delivery of quality clinical care within the clinic setting. This role works closely with the healthcare team and physicians to ensure that triage, telephone assessments, home therapies, and patient visits are consistent with established guidelines. The CNS plays a lead role in assisting the clinical team to meet or exceed CI goals, assists physicians and associates in managing patient registries, and ensures staff adherence to documentation standards and regulatory compliance. They also support a safe environment for patients and associates, act as a role model for the Culture of Safety, and lead site clinical integration activities. The position involves independent problem-solving, critical decision-making, and taking a lead role in emergency situations. Additionally, the CNS collaborates with management and physician leadership to maintain a patient-centered environment, monitors patient satisfaction data, fosters a professional environment, ensures adequate clinical staffing, and supports practice growth initiatives. The role also assists in creating and maintaining an operationally efficient and physician/provider-friendly work environment, including onboarding new physicians/providers and rounding with them daily to address concerns.

Requirements

  • Nurse, Registered (RN)
  • Must have a minimum of 40 hours per week availability.
  • Must be available to work Monday-Friday 8am-6pm and Saturday PRN 8am-12pm.
  • Must have a valid RN license.
  • Must be able to perform clinical duties as determined by the needs of the practice site(s) or as assigned by his/her manager.
  • Must maintain licensure and complete required CEUs.
  • Must keep abreast of current clinical standards via literature, educational events and internal and external resources and networking.
  • Must be able to participate in activities to enhance professional growth.
  • Must be able to actively participate in meetings, committees and projects.
  • Must be able to fulfill additional job-related duties based on operational needs as directed by the manager and/or the director.
  • Must be able to assist physicians/providers on issues related to patient care and safety.
  • Must be able to engage physicians/providers in improving processes, workflow and EMR related concerns.
  • Must be able to solicit feedback regarding staff performance.
  • Must be able to round with physicians/providers daily to review staff issues and to address and resolve operational/clinical concerns.

  • Must be able to assist in the creation and maintenance of an operationally efficient and physician/provider friendly work environment.

  • Must be able to promote same day access and be engaged in volume visit targets.
  • Must be able to participate in activities which foster practice growth.
  • Must be able to support initiatives that enhance practice growth as well as retention of existing patients under the direction of the manager and in collaboration with physician leadership.

  • Must collaborate with the practice manager on Human Resource functions related to associates to ensure continued quality, development and retention reflecting the Advocate Experience of creating the best place for associates to work and achieve associate satisfaction scores consistent with AMG goals and standards.

  • Must actively round on patients, associates and physicians and ensure that the team has the necessary resources and tools to be successful.
  • Must engage staff in resolution of identified issues.
  • Must evaluate service levels and operational procedures such as wait-times, message management and appointment availability.
  • Must assist in coordinating managed care issues and nursing updates.
  • Must ensure adequate clinical staffing at all times by developing schedules, assignments and modifying as necessary.
  • Must follow through and take ownership of patient complaints, and practice Service Recovery where identified.
  • Must foster a pleasant and professional environment, in person and over the phone, utilizing prescribed scripting and telephone standards.
  • Must be responsible for conveying a professional image in compliance with AMG clothing and grooming standards, and wears AMG provided identification tags at all time.
  • Must take appropriate steps to reduce wait times and to keep patients informed of delays.
  • Must conduct frequent assessments of patient flow.
  • Must participate and promote activities to evaluate and improve processes that will contribute to patient satisfaction.
  • Must hold self and others accountable to adherence to AMG Service Standards, Behaviors of Excellence, AIDET and MVP.
  • Must monitor data on a monthly basis, review with clinical staff, and physicians and jointly develop improvement plans in concert with the site leadership to meet/exceed established patient satisfaction targets.

  • Must ensure the timely management of EMR tasks, overdue orders, test result follow-up and other patient follow-up.
