About The Position

The School of Nursing at Jacksonville State University's College of Health Professions and Wellness is seeking an Instructor of Clinical Nursing. This is a non-tenure-track faculty position primarily focused on teaching upper division nursing courses and clinicals, specifically Foundations of Nursing Practice. The successful candidate is expected to be innovative, interested in active learning pedagogy, and capable of engaging students in various learning environments including classrooms, clinical settings, labs, and simulations. The role also requires strong English communication skills (oral and written), basic computer proficiency, and the ability to build and maintain professional relationships with colleagues and external organizations. The School of Nursing aims to foster a learning-centered community that uses evidence-based teaching to prepare culturally competent and ethical nurses for the global healthcare environment.

Requirements

  • A master’s degree in Nursing with a completion date prior to July 30th, 2026
  • An active, unencumbered Alabama nursing license
  • Strong interpersonal skills for developing relationships with students and peers
  • Skillful and effective use of English (both oral and written)
  • Basic computer skills

Responsibilities

  • Teach courses and clinical in upper division nursing specifically Foundations of Nursing Practice
  • Engage students in the classroom, clinical, lab, and simulation environment
  • Establish and maintain effective relationships with colleagues as well as professional organizations within their field of expertise outside of JSU
