Requirements
- Current, unencumbered RN license in the State of Oregon
- Master's degree in Nursing
- 2–3 years of clinical nursing experience
Nice To Haves
- Previous teaching, precepting, mentoring, or clinical education experience
- Experience as a preceptor, mentor, charge nurse, clinical leader, or in a guidance role.
Responsibilities
- Guide nursing students through hands-on clinical experiences in local healthcare settings.
- Connect real-world nursing practice to students' coursework.
- Coach and mentor students in developing clinical skills, judgment, communication, and confidence.
- Observe student performance and provide meaningful feedback and evaluation.
- Recognize opportunities for additional support and help students develop through coaching and remediation.
- Collaborate with Joyce faculty and staff to ensure a consistent, student-centered learning experience.
- Stay current in nursing practice and bring current clinical knowledge into teaching.
- Participate in select university activities such as faculty meetings, pinning ceremonies, and graduation.
