The Clinical Nurse works in ProHealth Care’s specialized outpatient Wound Healing program at Waukesha Memorial Hospital and Oconomowoc Memorial Hospital. The program cares for patients with acute and chronic wounds, including diabetic ulcers, pressure injuries, surgical wounds, and complex non-healing wounds. Care may involve support for debridement, negative pressure wound therapy, compression therapy, and coordination of hyperbaric oxygen treatment. Nurses collaborate with providers in a multidisciplinary model focused on limb preservation and improved healing outcomes. The Clinical Nurse is a competent practitioner who combines theoretical knowledge with clinical experience to care for patients and families. Care follows a deliberate, systematic approach informed by awareness of recurring patterns in patient responses. Nurses demonstrate mastery of most technical skills and provide professional nursing care with a patient- and family-centered focus. They also supervise and direct delegated nursing acts consistent with the supervised person's education and demonstrated abilities. This is an as-needed (PRN) role with a daytime schedule. Clinic hours are 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., Monday through Friday, with no weekends or holidays. Travel between Waukesha Memorial Hospital and Oconomowoc Memorial Hospital may be required. The role offers specialty development, procedural exposure, and a pathway to pursue wound care certification (WOCN).
