About The Position

Provides direct patient care activities, including assessment, diagnosis, planning, implementation, and evaluation in accordance with nursing-care standards. The role is on a 43-bed medical/surgical unit that cares for a variety of patients using a relationship-based care philosophy. The nurse promotes patient- and family-centered care in a healing environment and collaborates with patients, families or caregivers, and the interprofessional team to plan and coordinate care.

Requirements

Nursing diploma or associate degree in nursing.
Registered Nurse (RN) license.
No experience required.
No supervisor experience required.

Nice To Haves

Bachelor's degree in nursing.
Less than two years of experience.

Responsibilities

Promote patient- and family-centered care in a healing environment.
Educate patients and families about managing illness or injury, post-treatment home-care needs, and medication administration.
Participate in activities that promote patient safety, quality, and regulatory compliance.
Participate in professional development.
Develop, implement, and document individual plans of care with defined goals in collaboration with the interprofessional team and the patient, family, or caregiver.
Plan proactively and communicate the plan of care across the continuum of care.
Use critical nursing skills to assess and evaluate patients' physical, psychosocial, and emotional needs according to standards of care.
Assess patient preferences and barriers to involvement in care, including values and emotional, spiritual, cultural, and population-specific needs.
Maintain constant alertness and work safely in this safety-sensitive position.
