About The Position
Clinical Nurse Specialists provide compassionate nursing care while developing innovative solutions and integrating research into practical care. They evaluate information carefully and support decisions with evidence-based facts, with the goal of continually improving surgical care. In this role, the Clinical Nurse Specialist advances nursing practice by addressing complex system and patient-care issues, serves as a clinical expert, supports compliant patient care, and integrates evidence-based practice into the clinical environment. The specialist also develops and evaluates educational programs and collaborates with a multidisciplinary team to improve system performance and patient outcomes.
Requirements
- Critical Care/ICU experience, with demonstrated expertise in evidence-based practice, quality improvement, interdisciplinary collaboration, and management of complex critically ill patients.
- Master's degree in a clinical-focus program as a Clinical Nurse Specialist.
- Three years of experience in the clinical area of expertise.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association.
- Registered Nurse (RN) licensure from a State Licensing Board.
Responsibilities
- Advance nursing practice by implementing innovative solutions to complex system problems and patient-care issues.
- Serve as a clinical expert in the delivery of patient care.
- Assist with patient care in accordance with facility, state, and federal regulations.
- Integrate research into the clinical environment through evidence-based practice.
- Develop, coordinate, implement, and evaluate educational programs for patients and families, staff, and the community.
- Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team as a change agent to develop system performance standards and improve patient outcomes.
