As part of the Medical Oncology team at Hoag Memorial Hospital, Newport Beach, you’ll give direct inpatient nursing care as per the California Nurse Practice Act, and in support of the mission of the Patient Care Services Division. Being a Hoag Clinical Nurse means serving our community by using research and evidence-based outcomes and collaborating with members of your team to offer the highest level of care to those who depend on us. Our Medical Oncology unit features 33 beds, with a nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:4 to 1:5 depending on patient mix. While 80 to 90 percent of our admissions are oncology patients, we also receive overflow patients from our various medical/surgical units.
