About The Position

Sharp Grossmont Hospital is seeking a full-time Clinical Nurse RN for their Neuroscience ICU. This hospital is the only Comprehensive Stroke Center in Sharp HealthCare and the largest healthcare facility in East San Diego County, holding its fourth Magnet designation. The Neuroscience program offers advanced neurological and surgical treatments, with a state-of-the-art unit dedicated to patients with common and rare neurological conditions. Neuroscience nurses receive specialized orientation, including didactic, skill, preceptor, and simulation sessions, along with annual education to build a strong neuroscience foundation. This foundation supports nurses in pursuing Certified Neuroscience Registered Nurse (CNRN) certification after one year of experience. Professional development is encouraged through research, conferences, lectures, webinars, certification, and education reimbursement. The team is inclusive of various healthcare professionals working together to deliver specialized neuroscience care.

Requirements

• Graduate of nursing school.
• 1 Year clinical experience (RNs with less than 12 months experience will complete the new grad requirements).
• California Registered Nurse (RN) - CA Board of Registered Nursing -REQUIRED
• AHA Basic Life Support for Healthcare Professional (AHA BLS Healthcare) - American Heart Association -REQUIRED
• ACLS Certification (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) - American Heart Association -REQUIRED
• NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) - Various-Employee provides certificate -REQUIRED

Responsibilities

• Provide direct and indirect nursing services to patients and families.
