As a Clinical Nurse Manager at the Macon-Bibb County Health Department , you will join a dedicated group of public health professionals working to protect the health and well-being of communities across the state by supporting vital public health initiatives. Requirements

  • Associate degree in nursing from an accredited college or university and three (3) years of nursing experience
  • Completion of a PHN course within one year of hire
  • Current Georgia Registered Professional Nurse license
  • CPR certification

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor’s degree in nursing from an accredited college or university.
  • Prior experience working in public health.
  • Knowledge of Georgia Department of Public Health (DPH) nursing protocols.
  • Experience managing federal or state-funded budgets.

Responsibilities

  • Hire, supervise, evaluate, and train clinical and clerical staff; oversee student training.
  • Plan and manage county health programs; maintain compliance; submit reports; support policy development.
  • Ensure safe, high-quality services; monitor customer satisfaction; participate in audits and QI projects.
  • Manage budgets, supplies, equipment, and facility needs.
  • Coordinate education, health promotion, and public engagement activities.
  • Provide direct patient care as an expanded role nurse, including labs, treatments, medications, vaccines, education, and referrals; document care thoroughly and appropriately in the EMR.
  • Serve as local public health contact; participate in meetings; brief the Board of Health.
  • Lead emergency preparedness; oversee facility safety and compliance with fire and safety protocols.
  • Communicates facility needs (including but not limited to painting, landscape, and repairs) to the BOH and appropriate county authority.
  • Participate in district projects and committees and other duties as assigned
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.
