We are seeking an experienced Clinical Nurse Manager – Surgical Services to provide multi-site clinical leadership across our surgical and procedural services, including QUAD A, OB/GYN, Urology, Interventional Radiology, and Pain Management. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced procedural RN who is ready to take the next step into a highly visible nursing leadership role.

Requirements

  • Current, unrestricted New York State RN license
  • Current BLS and ACLS certification
  • Minimum 2 years of recent procedural nursing experience
  • Clinical experience within surgical or procedural services
  • Strong knowledge of peri-procedural nursing, moderate sedation, procedural monitoring, emergency response, recovery, and patient safety
  • Demonstrated leadership, problem-solving, communication, and staff-development skills
  • Ability to successfully manage clinical operations across multiple locations
  • Reliable transportation and ability to travel between NYH locations

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in one or more of the following strongly preferred: Ambulatory Surgery / QUAD A, OB/GYN, Urology, Interventional Radiology, or Pain Management
  • Previous experience as a Charge Nurse, Preceptor, Clinical Lead, Coordinator, or Nurse Manager preferred

Responsibilities

  • Provide clinical leadership and oversight across multiple surgical and procedural locations.
  • Partner with physicians, anesthesia teams, Practice Administrators, nursing leadership, and operational teams to ensure consistent standards of care.
  • Oversee pre-procedure, intra-procedure, recovery, and discharge workflows.
  • Ensure compliance with patient identification, informed consent, time-out procedures, medication safety, specimen management, documentation, and discharge requirements.
  • Maintain readiness for QUAD A accreditation, regulatory reviews, audits, clinical competencies, and emergency-response requirements.
  • Develop staffing plans based on procedural volume, patient acuity, workflow, and operational needs.
  • Support onboarding, orientation, competency validation, coaching, performance management, and professional development of nursing and clinical staff.
  • Monitor clinical quality, patient safety, patient experience, and operational performance.
  • Review incidents, near misses, patient complaints, and clinical concerns and participate in corrective-action and performance-improvement initiatives.
  • Serve as a hands-on clinical resource during high-volume periods, complex cases, or staffing challenges.
  • Assist physicians and procedural teams with patient care and procedures as appropriate within RN scope of practice.
  • Travel between assigned NYH surgical and procedural locations as needed.
