Clinical Nurse Leader | Labor & Delivery
About The Position
The Department of Nursing is seeking a motivated and transformational leader with a passion for Maternal Child patients to fill the Clinical Nurse Leader (CNL) or CNL Fellow role supporting the Labor and Delivery unit. This role supports nursing practice and patient outcomes for patients on the Labor and Delivery Unit. The CNL is responsible for overseeing the care of a cohort of patients and assuring optimal care coordination and outcomes for their area of responsibility. The role provides clinical leadership at the point of care and is vital in mitigating risks for our patients, promoting effective communication across disciplines and guiding nurses to continually grow in their practice. As transformational leaders, CNLs use change management and process improvement skills to close gaps in care systems. Act as a change agent and advocate while participating in both unit-based and system-wide improvement work and projects.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in nursing required
- Must graduate with a master’s degree in nursing and obtain CNL certification within 3 years
- RN licensure to practice in the state of Wisconsin upon hire
- Minimum of 3-4 years of relevant RN experience working in Labor and Delivery.
- Ideal candidate will have >1-year prior CNL experience in an acute setting
- Skills that will help you be successful in this role include leadership, professionalism, organization, accountability, and collaboration
- Current Infant-Adult Basic Life Support for Health Care Providers, and Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP).
Responsibilities
- Fulfill a 1.0 FTE; full-time, salaried position
- Supports nursing practice and patient outcomes for patients on the Labor and Delivery Unit.

- Starting annual salary for a Clinical Nurse Leader is $93,288/year + MORE for experience; for a Clinical Nurse Leader Fellow, starting pay is $88,795.20
