About The Position

We are seeking an experienced and highly skilled Clinical Nurse Coordinator (CNC) – Labor & Delivery to serve as a night-shift clinical leader in a high-performing Women’s Services unit. This role functions as a blend of Charge Nurse and Assistant Nurse Manager, providing both hands-on bedside care and operational leadership. The ideal candidate will be confident in high-acuity obstetric care, capable of supporting spontaneous deliveries, and competent in Cesarean section scrub/circulating responsibilities as needed.

Requirements

  • Active, unrestricted RN license.
  • ADN required; BSN preferred.
  • BLS certification required within 30 days of hire.
  • ACLS required within 1 year of hire.
  • Minimum 2 years of recent Labor & Delivery RN experience (required).
  • Prior leadership experience (Charge RN / Team Lead / Coordinator).
  • Experience in Women’s Services (L&D, NICU, or Mother-Baby preferred).
  • Ability to function in high-acuity obstetric and surgical scenarios.

Responsibilities

  • Act as the primary charge resource and leadership contact during night shifts.
  • Manage staffing adjustments, escalations, and operational issues independently.
  • Provide expert bedside care in Labor & Delivery settings.
  • Assist with vaginal deliveries and support C-sections (scrub/circulate as required).
  • Oversee admissions, discharges, and patient throughput efficiency.
  • Partner with leadership to improve quality metrics and care standards.
  • Participate in scheduling, staffing coordination, and productivity planning.
  • Support onboarding, mentoring, and performance coaching of nursing staff.
  • Promote patient-first care through rounding, communication, and service recovery.
  • Manage night-shift supplies and ensure equipment readiness.
