About The Position

The Clinical Nurse III contributes to the creation of a compassionate and caring environment for patients, families, and colleagues through displays of kindness and active listening. This role involves implementing physician orders, administering medications, starting IVs, performing treatments, procedures, and special tests, and documenting treatments as required by company policy and local/state/federal rules and regulations. The nurse will order, interpret, and evaluate diagnostic tests to identify and assess patients' conditions, and assess and evaluate patient needs for, and responses to, care rendered. Applying sound nursing judgment in patient care management decisions, the Clinical Nurse III provides primary and emergency care for occupational and non-occupational injuries and illnesses. They administer over-the-counter and prescription medications as ordered and collaborate with the nursing team to create a Plan of Care for all patients. This role also involves directing and guiding ancillary personnel and maintaining standards of professional nursing.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 2 years RN experience required in med-surg or critical care
  • Graduate of a professional academic nursing program in which a Diploma, Associate Degree or Baccalaureate Degree is conferred
  • Must hold current NYS Registered Nurse license
  • Obtains and maintains certification in Basic Life Support (BLS)
  • Excellent communication, prioritization, organizational and time-management skills
  • Possesses knowledge of quality concepts, principles, and problem-solving tools and techniques and demonstrates ability to apply in support of departmental and patient care quality improvement
