About The Position

The Clinical Nurse III in the Neonatal ICU assesses, coordinates, plans, directs, implements, and manages the needs of assigned patients throughout their episode of care, with a focus on progress toward discharge. This role includes managing patient needs during transitions within the acute care stay. The Clinical Nurse is responsible for the delivery and coordination of patient care provided by the caregiving team, ensuring competent and compassionate care for patients and collaborating with referring facilities, hospital staff, and patients in inpatient, ambulatory, and community settings. The role involves implementing physician orders, administering medications, starting IVs, performing treatments and procedures, and documenting care according to company policy and regulatory requirements. The nurse will order, interpret, and evaluate diagnostic tests, assess patient needs and responses to care, and apply sound nursing judgment in patient care management. Primary and emergency care for occupational and non-occupational injuries and illnesses will be provided, along with administering medications as ordered. Collaboration with the nursing team to create a Plan of Care for all patients and directing ancillary personnel to maintain professional nursing standards are key responsibilities.

Requirements

  • Graduate of a professional academic nursing program in which a Diploma, Associate Degree or Baccalaureate Degree is conferred.
  • Must hold current NYS Registered Nurse license.
  • Obtains and maintains certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS).
  • Minimum of 1-3 years of previous clinical RN experience in Med-Surg or Progressive Care
  • Ability to improve job performance through continuing education.
  • Possesses knowledge of quality concepts, principles, and problem-solving tools and techniques and demonstrates ability to apply in support of departmental and patient care quality improvement.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborates with the nursing team to create a Plan of Care for all patients.
  • Directs and guides ancillary personnel and maintain standards of professional nursing.
