About The Position

Incumbent provides patient care to an assigned group of patients in a procedural setting. The nurse incorporates the psycho-motor and age appropriate skills of the patient/family/significant other utilizing knowledge of patient assessment, planning, intervention, and evaluation. Acts as a role model and resource to other clinical staff in the area.

Requirements

  • Must possess the skill, knowledge and ability essential to the successful performance of assigned duties.
  • Must possess skill, knowledge and ability to circulate, monitor and recover a patient undergoing a diagnostic and therapeutic cardiac catheterization and electrophysiology procedures.
  • Must demonstrate customer service skills appropriate to the job.
  • Moderate sedation experience.
  • Minimum 12 months recent experience working in a Cardiac Cath Lab or minimum 3 years' recent experience working in a Cardiac Critical care unit.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
  • Current CA RN license.
  • All external candidates must have a Bachelor of Science in Nursing.
  • Ability to work variable shifts including evenings, nights, weekends, and holidays.
  • Ability to maintain flexibility and work well in a fast paced, constantly changing environment.
  • Ability to maintain a work pace appropriate to the workload.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships across the Health System.
  • Ability to cover call shifts (24/7).
  • Basic Life Support.
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support.
  • Must be able to provide proof of work authorization.

Nice To Haves

  • Understanding of applicable regulatory requirements.
  • Skill, knowledge and ability to provide procedural nursing care during electrophysiology procedures and/ or device implant procedures.
  • Knowledge of University and medical center organizations, policies, procedures and forms.
  • Knowledge and practical application of hemodynamic monitoring.
  • Bilingual skills to communicate effectively with patients and families.
