About The Position

Emerge Solutions Group, LLC is seeking to provide support to the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) Office of Discovery, Education & Affiliate Networks (DEAN) as they undergo major enterprise transformation and modernization. The VHA Office of Healthcare, Innovation and Learning (OHIL) is driving this change to enhance care delivery and service for Veterans. The Resuscitation Education and Innovation (REdI) program, part of the VHA SimLEARN network, is the official national program for overseeing and standardizing resuscitation training in accordance with VHA Directive 1177. The REdI program is responsible for field-based resuscitation training, simulation-based training, and quality reviews related to medical emergency care. The contractor will provide two subject matter experts in clinical nursing practice to perform mandatory tasks and deliver specific outputs.

Requirements

  • Existing American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support (BLS) Instructor
  • Existing American Heart Association (AHA) Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) Instructor
  • Bachelor’s Degree in nursing
  • Expert in clinical nursing practice; experienced with and uses approved curricula as well as the latest in clinical simulation.

Responsibilities

  • Conducts classes with and for interprofessional instructors and learners of the Veterans Health Administration clinical staff.
  • Support simulation activities to identify latent hazards as well as risk identification, classification, and reporting.
  • Evaluates current practice and assists with formulating plans for the evaluation of course outcomes.
  • Oversight and compliance of affiliated VHA medical centers
  • Logistical support
  • Electronic management of individual facility documents
  • Electronic management of instructor file record
  • Coordination with REdI Health Education Specialist teams and local VHA medical centers
  • Administrative support for program office
  • Administrative support for program implementation
  • Course delivery
  • Evaluation and ongoing performance improvement
  • Assessment of curriculum
  • Assessment and evaluation of systems
  • Conducts simulation-based activities
  • Evaluates latent safety hazards to include identification, classification and reporting of hazard
  • Evaluates the environment and delivery of care to assist with recommendations for performance improvement
  • Administrative support for program implementation
