About The Position

The Nurse Educator is responsible for coordinating and facilitating educational activities that support employee onboarding, required training, clinical competency, professional development, and regulatory compliance. This position also facilitates student clinical placements and verifies required student documentation while serving as a liaison among educational institutions, students, clinical leaders, and organizational departments. The Nurse Educator applies evidence-based practice and adult learning principles to promote staff competency and safe patient care.

Requirements

  • Registered Nurse in the State of Texas
  • One (1) year of experience in perioperative or inpatient environment
  • One (1) year of experience in clinical education, staff development, orientation, or student coordination
  • Basic Life Support certified
  • Knowledge of adult learning principles, instructional methods, and competency-based education.
  • Knowledge of clinical education, student-placement requirements, and healthcare regulatory standards.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Outlook, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Strong verbal, written, presentation, and facilitation skills.
  • Ability to develop and deliver education to individuals with varying roles and levels of experience.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to coordinate multiple educational programs, student placements, and compliance deadlines.
  • Ability to maintain confidential employee and student information.
  • Effective critical-thinking, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a dynamic healthcare environment.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinates employee orientation, onboarding education, annual training, and competency validation for clinical and non-licensed staff.
  • Coordinates essential life support credential (BLS, PALS, ACLS etc.) courses, renewals, instructor resources, and certification records to support employee compliance.
  • Develops, implements, and evaluates educational programs using evidence-based practice and adult learning principles.
  • Assesses learning needs and practice gaps and establishes measurable educational objectives and outcomes.
  • Evaluates educational effectiveness through participant feedback, competency results, and other established methods.
  • Maintains educational materials and training records in accordance with organizational and regulatory requirements.
  • Coordinates with HR compliance with affiliation agreements with schools and other educational institutions.
  • Facilitates student clinical placements, including departmental assignments, schedules, orientation, and communication with schools and clinical leaders.
  • Collects and verifies required student documentation, including immunization records, health screenings, background requirements, certifications, and other placement prerequisites.
  • Maintains accurate and confidential student, affiliation, education, and competency records.
  • Serves as the primary liaison among students, instructors, clinical departments, and organizational leadership.
  • Collaborates with clinical leaders and subject-matter experts to ensure education reflects current policies, standards, and regulatory requirements.
  • Promotes the adoption of evidence-based practices and provides education and resources to support changes in clinical practice.
  • Supports innovative educational methods that improve staff engagement, competency, and patient-care outcomes.
  • Perform other related tasks as needed.
