About The Position

The CDM Clinical Nurse Educator reports to the Manager Clinical Integration and works with an interdisciplinary team with a chronic disease prevention and management focus. The CDM Clinical Nurse Educator integrates in-depth clinical expertise, experience, and knowledge with the principles of teaching and learning, in the provision of chronic disease self-care management for clients, families, health professionals and students. Requirements

  • 3 years clinical experience with patients/families with chronic disease
  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BScN)
  • Valid Class 5 driver's license
  • Certified Diabetes Educator (CDE)
  • Nursing diploma is acceptable
  • Basic Life Support Certificate (BLS)
  • Basic - Computer skills
  • Advanced - Interpersonal skills
  • Basic - Assessment skills
  • Advanced - Communication skills
  • Basic - Facilitation skills
  • Demonstrates word processing skills using Microsoft Office programs
  • Ability to develop, evaluate and modify programming provided to clients
  • Ability to adapt to changing conditions
  • Communication skills to transfer knowledge/skills
  • Ability to develop and deliver formal education programs
  • Ability to competently use computers and software applications
  • Demonstrates ability in teaching, facilitation and group activities
  • Registered/eligible with the College of Registered Nurses of Saskatchewan (CRNS)
  • Must have obtained one or more of the Chronic Disease Management certifications
  • May consider candidates able to obtain qualifications within 18 months
