About The Position

The Barnes Jewish West County Hospital Department of Radiation Oncology treats 25-40 patients daily. The department has an IX Varian linear accelerator and a Philips Brilliance large bore CT scanner. Physician coverage is from Washington University. This PRN position is for days, with no weekends or holidays expected. The facility was designed to provide a comforting environment that is innovative, efficient and centered on the patient experience. The campus features a park-like setting with landscaping and a walking path that winds through the grounds and connects to Millennium Park.

Requirements

• Nursing Diploma/Associate's in Nursing
• 2-5 years of experience
• RN license

• Radiation Oncology Experience
• Experience with Epic
• Bachelor's Degree in Nursing

Responsibilities

• Coordinates the health care of select patient populations/designated service across the continuum of care.
• Responsible for coordination of patient contact, patient education, prepares patient/family for procedure/test in collaboration with the healthcare team.
• Facilitates patient care by assessing and evaluating patient's physical, psychosocial and emotional needs.
• Coordinates the delivery of safe and appropriate patient care governed by evidence-based clinical practice.
• Monitors care and data to optimize patient outcomes.
• Facilitate the education of patients and families.
• Acts as a resource to the health care team.
• Ensures actions meet and support the overall goals of the business.
