About The Position

The Clinical Nurse C-CVL (CNC-CVL) functions effectively in a Magnet Recognized large tertiary academic medical center with level one trauma designation, ST-Elevation Myocardial Infarction (STEMI) receiving center designation and comprehensive stroke center accreditation. Demonstrates advanced knowledge in adult cardiovascular nursing and functions in a fast-paced adult cardiovascular lab. Follows the nursing process to perform simple and complex diagnostic and therapeutic invasive cardiovascular procedures for adult patients with cardiac dysfunction. Scrubs, circulates, and assists physicians in performing simple and complex diagnostic, interventional, electrophysiology procedures including, but not limited to, cardiac biopsies, right and left heart catheterizations, percutaneous cardiac interventional procedures. Applies discretion and independent judgment to the provision of age-specific and developmentally appropriate quality care for stable and unstable patients. Collaborates in the development of standards of care, patient, family and staff education to address the needs of this specialized patient population. Serves as a role model in patient care delivery methods and consistently demonstrates an advanced level of clinical practice, communication, and documentation. Facilitates the empowerment of the nursing profession and embraces new knowledge, innovations and improvements in practice to enhance the patient experience and clinical outcomes. May be required to participate in on-call rotation based on department business needs. Performs other duties as needed.

Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) required.
  • Two years of experience in critical care, emergency department, cardiovascular lab, or interventional radiology required.
  • Active California Registered Nurse (RN) license required.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification issued by the American Heart Association required.
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification issued by the American Heart Association required.

Nice To Haves

  • Two years of experience in cardiology nursing preferred.
  • Spanish language proficiency preferred.
