About The Position

The Clinical Nurse B-Flexible Integrated Team (FIT) is part of the Loma Linda University Medical Center-Murrieta float pool. The FIT nurse works from a home department and may be reassigned to another patient care department at LLUMC-Murrieta when staffing is needed to cover sick calls, vacations, federal or state legislative leaves, or vacancies. The nurse must be flexible and readily accept assignments where needed. Using discretion and independent judgment, the nurse prioritizes, coordinates, provides, and documents direct and indirect, age-specific and developmentally appropriate patient-centered care in a fast-paced environment. The role performs the nursing process—assessment, care planning, intervention, and evaluation—with minimal supervision and in accordance with the Professional Practice Model (Duffy's Quality Caring Theory), supporting individualized physical, psychosocial, and spiritual wellness and providing compassionate bereavement support when appropriate. The nurse works in a skills-mix environment and delegates tasks to unlicensed staff within their scope of practice. The position applies theoretical concepts to clinical practice and continually develops knowledge and clinical skills, with a focus on the assigned specialty. The nurse must meet qualifications, licensure, certifications, competencies, and staffing requirements specified by the department’s Plan for Providing Care (PPC), demonstrate professionalism and excellent customer service, and contribute to a caring, cooperative work environment among a culturally diverse workforce and patient population. Other duties may be assigned as needed. Loma Linda University Health is a Seventh-day Adventist, faith- and values-based Christian institution. Candidates must understand and embrace the mission, purpose, and identity of Loma Linda and its affiliated entities. The organization is an equal opportunity employer and provides reasonable accommodations to qualified individuals with disabilities.
