Clinical Nurse B-CH (SSN) FIT

Loma Linda University Health•San Bernardino, CA

About The Position

The Clinical Nurse B-CH (SSN) Flexible Integrated Team (FIT) is part of Loma Linda University Shared Services supplemental staffing. The FIT nurse functions out of a home department and is reassigned to a Loma Linda University Children's Hospital patient care department when additional staffing is needed to cover sick calls, vacations, federal and state legislative leaves, or vacancies. The nurse exhibits flexibility and accepts assignments where needed. Using discretion and independent judgment, the nurse prioritizes, coordinates, provides, and documents direct and indirect age-specific and developmentally appropriate patient-centered care in a fast-paced environment. The nurse performs the nursing process—assessment, care planning, intervention, and evaluation—with minimal supervision and in accordance with the Professional Practice Model (Duffy's Quality Caring Theory), supporting individualized physical, psychosocial, and spiritual wellness and providing compassionate bereavement support as appropriate. The role works in a skills-mix environment, delegates tasks to unlicensed staff within scope of practice, and applies theoretical concepts to clinical practice. The nurse continually expands knowledge and clinical skills with a focus on the area of specialty, meets SSN qualifications, licensure, certification, competency, and staffing requirements, and contributes to professional, cooperative, culturally responsive care. Performs other duties as needed.
