Clinical Mentor (RN) Adult and Pediatric Emergency Room
About The Position
Inova Fairfax Hospital is looking for an experienced RN Adult and Pediatric Emergency Room (ED) Clinical Nurse Mentor. Inova Fairfax Hospital Emergency Room Features: Care from Northern Virginia's only Level I Trauma Center, Rapid evaluation of every medical condition, Radiology and lab services open 24/7, radiology and CT scans occur onsite in the emergency room, Staffed by board-certified emergency medicine physicians at all times, 72 treatment rooms, including 3 Trauma and Resuscitation Rooms, 8 "fast track" treatment areas for faster care of less serious injuries, Open design to visually aid the medical team in patient care, Emergency psychiatric assessment, treatment and healing (EmPATH) in a calming, therapeutic environment for patients 18 years of age and over, Adjacent to the newly renovated Inova Children’s Pediatric Emergency Room. Requirements
- Bachelors Degree in Nursing
- 2 years of progressive experience in nursing in designated specialty
- 3 months of experience serving as preceptor
- BLS from the American Heart Association
- Licensed or eligible for licensure in the Commonwealth of Virginia as a Registered Nurse or an active multi-state RN License.
Responsibilities
- Develop expertise in training, coaching and mentoring staff through the promotion and delivery of high-quality nursing care.
- Orient, educate and develop nursing staff to ensure competence and ability to fulfill specified responsibilities.
- Provide support to novice and advanced nurses and preceptors to ensure a smooth transition into practice and the work environment.
- Integrate knowledge, skills and experiences to meet the clinical and social adjustment needs of all team members.
- Participate in the design, delivery and evaluation of educational programs to promote clinical development and career progression from novice to proficient nurse for new or existing clinicians.
