About The Position

Anne Arundel Dermatology is seeking a Medical Assistant to join our outpatient dermatology clinic in Knoxville, TN, Knoxville Dermatology Group. The Medical Assistant will support providers with patient care, clinical procedures, and daily office operations in a fast-paced environment.

Requirements

• Experience as a Medical Assistant in a clinical setting
• Ability to obtain vital signs and administer injections
• Knowledge of medical terminology, CPT/ICD-10 coding, and EMR systems
• Understanding of HIPAA, OSHA, and infection control protocols
• Strong communication, organizational, and multitasking skills
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment
• Willingness to travel to satellite offices as needed

Nice To Haves

• Completion of a Medical Assistant Program, Certified Nursing Assistant program or completion of a bachelor’s degree program in the pre-med or pre-physician assistant track preferred.
• CPR certified preferred.
• 1-2 years of recent experience as a Medical Assistant, Certified Nursing Assistant, or other clinical patient care experience preferred.
• Previous experience in Dermatology is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Room patients, verify patient information, and obtain vital signs
• Assist providers during exams and procedures
• Prepare procedure trays, instruments, and equipment
• Administer injections and assist with patient treatments
• Collect and process lab/pathology specimens
• Educate patients on treatment plans and wound care
• Maintain inventory, supplies, and equipment sterilization
• Document patient care accurately in the EMR
• Ensure compliance with HIPAA, OSHA, and infection control standards
• Support clinic workflow and complete other duties as assigned
