About The Position

The Clinical Medical Assistant supports the delivery of quality patient care by assisting providers with clinical and administrative duties in the medical practice setting. This role is responsible for preparing patients for visits and procedures, completing patient intake, supporting provider documentation and orders, communicating with patients regarding care needs, and helping maintain an organized, professional, and patient-centered clinic environment.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED equivalent
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) or obtain within 6 months of hire
  • Ability to interact comfortably with physician’s, patients, and families
  • Understands and demonstrates competence and physical ability to perform all job duties
  • Demonstrates skill in oral and written communication techniques
  • Demonstrates the ability to comprehend and interpret verbal orders and directions

Responsibilities

  • Support the mission, vision, and values of the organization
  • Greet patients, take full vital signs
  • Provide patient education - review of treatment plan, any exercises discussed, follow-up care, and/or pre- and post-op care
  • Create and manage patient orders for the visit including outgoing referrals/order AND in-office procedures and/or DME
  • Prepare patients for examination and/or treatment for surgery
  • Prepare patient’s room to meet the needs of the physician and assist as needed
  • Room patients, complete patient intake, and summarize the HPI for provider including a review of any applicable test/imaging results
  • Collaborate with other healthcare professionals when needed
  • Answer telephones and directs calls
  • Maintain stock and new supplies as needed
  • Communicate with patients as needed regarding any test/imaging results and/or prior-authorization requirements/results
  • Participates in optimal teamwork within in the clinic
  • Demonstrates excellence in communication and interpersonal skills
  • Always displays professionalism
  • Successfully contribute to a work environment of caring and cooperation
  • Participates in in-services and staff meetings
