About The Position

AICA Orthopedics is hiring a Medical Assistant for a single clinic location in metro Atlanta. This role involves working with personal injury and orthopedic patients in a high-volume, acute care setting, not routine check-ups. The Medical Assistant will work alongside orthopedic physicians, PAs, and nurse practitioners. X-ray certification is a plus and training is provided, which can move the employee toward the top of the pay range. The ideal candidate is a certified MA, or an MA in training, who thrives in a high-volume clinical environment, takes documentation seriously, stays organized during busy periods, and understands the importance of accuracy in patient care.

Requirements

Graduate of an accredited Medical Assistant program or Military Medical Specialist.
CMA, RMA, or equivalent certification, or actively working toward it.
EHR proficiency; NextGen preferred.
Reliable transportation.
Able to stand for extended periods, lift up to 25 lbs, bend and stoop regularly.

Nice To Haves

X-ray or ARRT certification.
2+ years MA experience in a clinical setting.
Orthopedic, multi-specialty, or personal injury experience.
Bilingual English and Spanish.

Responsibilities

Room patients, obtain histories, and record vital signs.
Prepare patients for exams and assist with procedures.
Administer injections and prepare medications per provider orders.
Educate patients on treatment plans and post-visit instructions.
Perform X-rays (training provided).
Fit patients for DME and provide usage instruction.
Manage medication inventory and comply with pharmacy procedures.
Maintain accurate, HIPAA-compliant records in NextGen EHR, completing them before the end of the shift.
Ensure clinical areas are stocked and organized.
